What is a water sensitive city?

Launch of the ‘Vision for a Water Sensitive City’ report by the Water Sensitive Cities Group

This report has been developed to provoke discussion into what a Water Sensitive City should be.   It is provided to as a starting point for others to engage, discuss and refine the vision in their work and local community.

Nine key recommendations are presented, ranging from the need to set ambitious water conservation targets, expand the use of recycled water, recognise the nexus between water and energy and look for solutions which lower environmental footprint and the need for leadership, both through the construction of innovative demonstration projects and the development of networks and institutions for learning exchange and excellence in sustainable water management.  Together the recommendations provide a high level snapshot of the elements that a Water Sensitive City should be.
