USC Planning Seminar: Sustainable Water Supply Options for SEQ
A Seminar by Vikki Uhlmann Water infrastructure is the heart of the circulation system of an urban community. This presentation illustrates that a multidisciplinary approach is critical for creating sustainable organizations and projects.
The Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) triple bottom line approach—measuring social, economic and environmental performance indicators—is used to assess options for supplying water to SEQ, including the proposed Traveston Crossing Dam on the Mary River. In addition, the 2005 Public Sector Supplement of the GRI (pilot) used by governments for reporting on their sustainability will be briefly discussed. This seminar will be of interest to planners, water planners, and those interested in environmental and natural resource management.
