People and Water Planning Tools

Researchers of the Water Planning Tools project gave a presentation entitled "People and Water Planning Tools" at the 2010 Australian Irrigation Conference in Sydney in June. Download the presentation here.

The conference brought together the full spectrum of people engaged in the irrigation industry, and is described as the largest event of its kind held in the southern hemisphere. The Australian Irrigation Conference mixes irrigators, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, researchers, water supply organisations, consultants, advisors, government officials and policy people across the rural and urban industries.

The conference theme One Water Many Futures looked to the future of irrigation and its role in food, fibre and lifestyles as the Australian irrigation industry undergoes a once in a lifetime policy and practice transformation.

Our presentation focused on the role that community engagement plays in the development of water plans, and outlined some of the findings from a selection of tools trialled in the project.
