Australian Water Markets Report 2008-2009

On 10 December 2009 the Commission released its second Australian water markets report. As a result of the enactment of the Water Act 2007 (Cwth), the Bureau of Meteorology is now responsible for the collection of trade data under the Water Regulations 2008 (Cwth).  This year's report is based on the trade data collected by the Bureau.  Following the inaugural report, the Commission engaged the Allen Consulting Group to again assist in the analysis of trade data and the Bureau of Rural Sciences to provide GIS and mapping services for the report.  Parties to the National Water Initiative provide data and explanatory material to assist preparation of the report. The Commission thanks the agencies involved for their ongoing co-operation. In its second year of production, the Commission has provided trend analysis in this year's report.
