Wendy Proctor

Wendy Proctor is Leader, Water Sharing Stream, CSIRO Water for a Healthy country Flagship. She also directs the Policy and Economic Research Unit (PERU).

Her expertise is environmental economics and her main interest is in decision analysis and particularly in the application of participatory methods to enhance environmental management. This also involves techniques to enable the integration of varied research components as well as dealing with often conflicting stakeholder values. Her recent research combined participatory and deliberative processes with formal, multi-criteria decision aiding techniques.

She is Australia's leading expert in the area. She was co-author on a highly acclaimed CSIRO report that looked at the consequences for Australian regions with 5 million more people and lower supplies of water by 2032.
