James Whelan (associate member)

James is an environmental sociologist with a particular interest in social movements, community action and community-based natural resource management.

He is an adjunct lecturer at three Queensland universities and is engaged in research projects examining collaborative water planning, the grassroots climate movement and regulation of the nanotechnology industry.

James is a founding co-director of the Change Agency, a charitable organisation supporting campaigns for social and environmental justice.
